Fix It With Five is a student-led and student-funded annual $6,500 grant derived from the student activities fee of Saint Michael’s College students.  We encourage non-profit organizations that do their work in Chittenden County to apply for our grant.  As a committee,  we are committed to creating systemic change in the greater Burlington, Vermont area.

Mission

It is the mission of the Fix it with Five committee to promote systemic and permanent change through an annual grant to a local community-based organization demonstrating this same commitment. Following Saint Michael’s College’s mission of social justice, in the Catholic and Edmundite tradition, this student-led and student-funded program aims to alleviate a condition leading to the degradation of human dignity. Through the grant process, Fix it with Five seeks to heighten awareness about pressing social problems which ultimately affect us all and to educate both the college and surrounding communities about organizations working in constructive ways to strengthen our community. Our name derives from our process of taking around $5 from the student activities fee of each of Saint Michael's College's 1,500 students.
